This painting was picked to be in Best of America Watermedia Artists, vol. II, by Kennedy Publishing. A friend of mine has friends that have a small koi pond and they agreed to let me photograph them. They were very hungry when I got there and thought that I might have some food, so they were climbing (do they climb?) all over each other to get to me. The pond had a trellis above it to keep the hawks from eating the fish and it reflected in the water, which with the movement of the water gave me some really interesting patterns to paint. This one is SOLD, but I have many pictures of Koi to paint that you can choose from. I never re-paint the same Koi painting, each one is unique and individual.
