When I was in college, one of the assignments was to collect different textures on paper using different colored pencils, then cut out shapes and glue them on paper to make a picture. The end picture, that I did, looked very similiar to these recent tree drawings (there are several in this gallery), but with color. Right now, I am really into black and white.
