Funny, I had a mentor (helen Dietze) that said “make an asset out of a liability”, basically make lemonade out of lemons. This painting is just that! It started out as a realistic Amaryllis, but I wasn’t happy with it. I through water on the dy and alcohol on the dyed silk to see what would happen. Then went with the results, pushing the painting farther!
